Bree got to welcome Lyla to the world saturday. We went to Tysen's house to get some snuggle time with baby Lyla
Bree giving Lyla kisses
She was so happy to hold her!
Lyla and her proud big sister Ava
The day before they went home we spent some more time at the hospital with them. Apparantely, the genetisist that met with Tysen and Chris said that the chances of two siblings having children born with down syndrome is very rare....he estimated about 1 in 500,000 or more.

Oh, she's adorable. I love those pictures with your girls. I love Bree with pigtails. She looks so grown up!
Such sweet pictures. Crazy odds - but super cool. I bet your sister's fears were calmed by what she had already experienced with your family. How fun to have 'alike' cousins!
She is gorgeous! I still think that this whole thing is so amazing!
This is so amazing! What beautiful little girls and such sweet spirits. Bree will be such a great example to baby Lyla
So cute. I have another friend that both her and her sister have kids with DS ... I know her from a forum and she lives overseas. :)
BTW I can't find your email on here, but I responded to your question about translocation on my blog in the comments. :)
Wow, she is just beautiful!!! How lucky you all are to have another one in the family!!
Your girls are so sweet - the things they say!
Makes me want Brigitte to have a little sister to love....maybe someday!
I just hopped over to your blog from FB. You have such a beautiful family!
My Ruby is a surviving twin - both our (identical) girls had DS, but we didn't know until they were born (and Lydia was stillborn). Even though they have the non-inherited trisomy, my husband's older sister had a daughter w/DS 20 years ago! So, our family has siblings who both had children w/DS, too.
