BIG NEWS!

Literally it is big NEWS.... Last Feb. just after we had committed to adopt Mia we received a call from Andrea at Reece's Rainbow saying that she had been contacted by ABC world news and they wanted to do a story about Reece's Rainbow and wanted to follow a family in the process from start to finish. ABC decided to follow our journey to Mia.

They came with us to Ukraine which was quite an adventure for them, and we were glad to have a few more English friends for a few days. We had lots of fun stories that we couldnt share at the time because we couldn't say they were with us. they were there with us when we met Mia for the first time and stayed with us for a few days there. Then when we got homemwith Mia they came to our home for a few days to film Mia in her new family and do a follow up.

we had to keep this a secret for the last 10 months but now the story is supposed to air TOMORROW NIGHT MONDAY DEC 26 ON ABC WORLD NEWS TONIGHT WITH DIANE SAWYER. I beleive it is on at 5:30 mst so set your dvr and spread the word!

when we were first approached about doing this my first thought was "no I do not want a national camera crew following this crazy, nerve wracking journey with me" but when we thought of the potential for good that this could have for the other waiting children on Reece's rainbow we knew we had to do it. our hope is that it will bring. More national awareness to Reece's rainbow and that more of these children will find their forever families before it is too late!
So tune in tomorrow night with us! we can't wait to see what they put together!

I can't wait to hear and see more about everything.

My wife and I were just saying how thankful we were for the peacefulness of this Christmas. This time last year we had just learn that Noah was born with Down syndrome....we had a billion emotions....and no idea why the next year had in store for us...but now we know!

If we only knew then wheat ewe know now!

So thankful for how God is using you guys, and can't wait to watch (And record) tomorrow night!

Very excited to watch. We loved following along when you went to pick Mia up. We were at the beginning of our process and it gave us hope for what was coming :)

I cannot wait to see this tonight!!!! I am SO excited that this is making national news. I can still remember last Christmas talking to Patti about adopting precious Olga, and then looking at Mia's precious face. Oh, how she reminded me of our Benjamin!! That giveaway opened my eyes forever to these precious children that the world never sees. May our eyes always see them and be their voice. SO thankful that you all have shared your journey with the world. It is beautiful. Hopefully this coverage will open many doors for these children that have no voice. SO thankful for Patti too and all she does for these babies on her blog. Love, Cara

What an exciting experience! So glad you were able to share about Reece's Rainbow. I have followed several blogs of people who have adopted through there and someday hope we can, too. Can't wait to go back and read about your family! I first saw the story from Noah's Dad on Facebook and then found a link to your blog from A Perfect Lily (that I have been following for a few months). Thanks for your selflessness.

My husband and I have been donating the last few years to Reeces Rainbow. We have 5 children. Our #4 has Down Syndrome. We have been discussing adopting. I would love to talk to someone that has gone through this process. If you don't mind, I would love to chat some time. Please visit my blog, or email me.

That was so awesome to see your story on the news! I was disappointed that they only gave your story 5 minutes, but then again, 5 minutes is so much better than none! You guys are amazing and I have fallen in love with your story!

I know you guys are in Utah, but I don't know what area, but have you heard of the United Angels Foundation? If you are in or near Utah County, I'd recommend looking at their organization. www.unitedangelsfoundation.org
They are so great and they have so many events that are wonderful for families of children with special needs =]

They saved the best for last! I loved watching it, although I already knew most of the story from reading your blog. I loved it. Cried again of course. Mia couldn't be more adorable.
