Let Them Be Little

There is this great country song called "Let them be Little" and the chorus says,
Let them be little, cause they're only that way for a while.
let em cry, let em giggle, let em sleep in the middle
oh but let them be little."
I feel like lately I am so caught up in what needs to get done and who needs to get where that I am not enjoying my children and the different stages they are in. I feel like I am just trying to stay afloat rather than taking time to enjoy each activity. So when I read my friend's blog tonight it was exactly what I needed to put things into perspective a little. She said,

"I want to EMBRACE motherhood. The giggles, the stinky diapers, the cuddles, the runny noses, the learning moments, the sleepy moments, the messy floors, the sweet smiles, the naughty looks, ALL OF IT! I just want to soak it all in and I don't want to take a single second for granted. This means embracing the mess and realizing that this is just a season of life. My house will be messy for a few decades, but I am grateful to be blessed for the reason for the mess. Cute babies are way more fun than a clean house ever could be!" (thanks Ashley- I needed to hear this tonight)

So here's to my cute and silly babies!

My goal is to do as our dear President Hinckley said, "try a little harder to be a little better." I don't have to be perfect and have everything under control all the time and the sooner I am ok with that the happier I (and my famiily) will all be. Because I don't want to look back and wish I had enjoyed all the little moments I am blessed with each day-even if it is a tantrum or a constant stream of toys to pick up. I love my life and I am grateful to be able to be a mom and to be able to stay at home with my girls!

Corbin and I always talk about what kind of parents we want to be and how we want to raise our children. This conversation always leads us to you, Kris, and the girls. You're all such great examples to us, and we always pray that we can be great like you! Thanks for your spirit of love.
P.S. that pic of Bree is so dang cute!

Thank you for the reminder, Kecia. I tend to get wrapped up in all that not-so-important stuff myself. Time really does go so fast and I really need to just enjoy it. Thanks:)

I'm glad that my random ramblings helped and I think that song Let them be little, just sums it all up doesn't it? I love that song! Thanks for reminding me about it! Your family is so cute and you certainly ARE one lucky gal!

What cute pictures of your girls! What a good reminder this is. I'll have to remember to come back and reread this post when I'm having "a moment" with my kids!
