Happy Valentine's Day/Merry Christmas! For Christmas my parents gave all the married couples an overnight stay at the Blue Boar Inn in Midway so we reserved it for a valentine celebration this weekend. My mom also kept all three kids as part of the gift. It was WONDERFUL!!! We started out with a little shopping at the outlets, which is always fun without kids! Then we headed up to Midway to the darling little bed and breakfast. Our room was really cute! When we got there we found a yummy little snack plate with cheese, crackers and strawberries at this little table in the window. Kris decided to enjoy a Charles Dickens book in the reading nook! (IF you know Kris at all you know he was definitely posing for this picture becuase he does not do much reading)

All the rooms are decorated around famous authors with a european style. We had the Charles Dickens room!

They had this cute little library where you could go check out movies to watch.

Kris and I in the lobby before we headed out to dinner. The Blue Boar Inn had a nice restaurant in its lobby but it was already booked so we headed over to another hotel for dinner.

Apparantly it is european etiquet to turn in your key at the front desk when you go out and then they provide their "turn down" service. So when we came back we found the bed turned down with chocolates, a rose, some bath robes, and the famous "boar" along with the fire going and romantic music playing. How nice!

Included with our stay was a complimentary brunch at their restaurant and it was INCREDIBLE! It was this full course yummy brunch consisting of fresh squeezed orange juice, fruit, pastries, a crepe, an entree of your choice and then a berry scone dish for dessert. Not only was the food absolutely DELICIOUS, it was wonderful to just sit in this quiet, quant little restaurant and enjoy a long meal together.

Me outside the Blue Boar Inn----the snow banks were incredibly high!
I look like a dwarf next to this one!
It was SO relaxing at this cute little B&B and we had a WONDERFUL time! It went by way too fast! Thanks SOOOO much mom and dad for the great gift and for watching the girls!! We LOVED it!!

Kip and I stayed in that exact room last summer for our anniversary! We loved it too!!
That sounds like a wonderful getaway. I love the turn-down service. It sounds incredibly romantic! Perfect for celebrating Valentine's day.
Hey, haven't checked the blogs out for awhile, sounds like a great little romantic getaway. Deborah wanted me to surprise her with a little getaway as well, we spent the night in a tent under the freeway eating cold beans out of a can with a stick.
What a great gift for you guys. I'm glad you had a fun time!!! You look like a little kid next to that huge snow bank. :)
How fun! I've always wanted to stay there. Glad you got to get away together. What a great gift!
I'm just glad to know that Kris actually CAN read! What a fun time - looks like a great place.
Looks like so much fun and I'm glad to know my husband isn't the only one who doesn't read much. BTY: Love your cute coat!
WHat a fun getaway. It sounds very romantic.
