ALL DAY? I can't believe she has to be gone from me ALL DAY! I thought leaving her at school on the first day of kindergarten was tough until this 1st grade thing. It was REALLY hard to leave her and know that my life will never be the same-I will never have all of my kids with me all the time to just come and go as we please and do what we want, when we want. Now it is the real world and I don't like it one bit!

Ky REALLY wanted a Tinkerbell backpack this year and although I am normally against the character thing I thought what the heck-you are only a kid once and if that is what will make her feel comfortable at school than so be it. She was really excited about her "Hannah Montana" sandals too and told me that she didn't care which outfit she wore as long as she could wear the sandals. Luckily there is nothing on the outside of them that screams "Hannah Montana" -they are just brown sandals with a little guitar-but under the foot is Hanna Montana.

Adrie gave her a hug about every 5 minutes as she was getting ready for school-she was really sad to see her go! They are such good little buddies and play so well together-Adrie is giong to be lost without her around.

Checking out the new classroom and her desk-she was excited to have the desk this year-an upgrade from the table in kindergarten.

Mom and Ky- Kris kept the other two at home so Ky and I could have our one on one time-I think he knew what a baby I was going to be. I cried as she walked away-and it was even harder because she was crying a little too. She was trying so hard to hold it back as she got in line with her friends.

So when I got to the car I cried the whole way home and then I walked in the house and Kris gave me a hug and I started all over again. This growing up thing is going to be a lot harder than I thought! Adrie asked why I was crying and I said "I just don't like you guys growing up" and she said "and you miss Ky like me huh?!" So Adrie and I decided to keep busy to make us feel a little better......

I made Adrie the same lunch as Kyra

Adrie was just laying under the table after lunch asking me when Kyra was going to be home.

Adrie and I made cookies for Ky's after school snack-when Ky got home Adrie told her that she didn't have time to eat her lunch because she was so busy making Ky some cookies (that's a new excuse for not eating)

Adrie wanted to see Kyra's class so we went to pick her up from school and Kyra showed her around.

enjoying some cookies after a LONG day! Adrie wanted to use the flower cookie cutters on them so this was our attempt.

Ky was really tired and vegged on the couch for awhile.
BACK TO SCHOOL DINNER:
I decided to make a special back to school dinner. We had name tags, we ate on the "school lucnh trays", had "school" decorations and centerpieces, and decided to have a family theme for the school year. This year it is going to be "Kindness Begins with Me". Our family night lesson was centered on that too.

We had ABC tater tots....

ABC jello jigglers.......

and Homemade chicken strips-they were really yummy but I didn't get a picture of them.

So we made it through the long day but I am still pretty depressed about my life not being like it used to be. Although my kids drive me nutty alot I still LOVE having them around all day and I am sad to see this new phase of life starting. I know everyone always says "They grow up faster than you think" and boy are they right!! I am already wanting it to be summer again so we can just play together!

I LOVE the 'back to school' dinner and FHE. What a great idea! I wish I would have thought of that! My kids aren't around long enough for family dinner with football season though!~ :( I will have to remember that for next year!
I cried for a month when I took my oldest to school. It does get easier though. I am LOVING the back to school dinner idea. I wish I had done something fun like that for my kids.
Very cute! I really need to accomplish more in my day when I see that you do all that with 3 kids.
I hope you apply the "family theme" to yourself and start treating me with kindness and respect.
You amaze me!! You think of the cutest things and then you actually follow through (that's the part I'm the worst at). Thanks for the inspiration! I can't believe Kyra is in 1st grade!!
What a cute dinner idea! And you're right it isn't ever the same again, but it is kind of fun to spend a little extra time with the younger ones.
She looks so cute. What's up with your cute/creative dinner and theme? When I talked to you earlier that day you said you had no idea what you were going to do for dinner - are you telling me you came up with all of this last minute???? Gosh I feel like a major slacker! I hope both of you were able to go to days 2 and 3 without any tears!!
I love that you are such a hands on mom! Looks like a fun filled day, I love that Adrie is so attached to Ky, they are such good friends!
Kyra looks so grown up! I can't handle it. The back to school dinner turned out so cute. I can't believe you had a theme and everything. You're so fun!
The grass is always greener...being home with 3 kids all day makes me wish I had one in 1st grade. That dinner was way cute, maybe I'll remember that in 3 years!
Kyra looks so dang cute!!
And seriously could be any any cuter of a mom?!?! I LOVE the back to school themed dinner! You are just too creative!! What a fun mom you are!
Wow Kecia! You are such a great mother! Your kids will never forget these types of things! I really admire you for how much time and effort you put into family events. I really need to set some goals to try and be more like that! Although we can cry together about them moving on to such new things! Brax is on his last year of Elementary and Rylee her 2nd year of Preschool, emotionally I'm a wreck! :)
Oh, I can´t believe Kyra´s in 1st grade! Your kids are growing up way too fast! That is a huge adjustment having Kyra gone the whole day, it makes me sad that she won´t be home all day with you and the girls! Adrie is so cute, and just loves Kyra so much ,they are such good pals! You are so cute Kecia, the dinner and the family night was just over the top!
What a fun mom you are! You're family is very lucky too have you
Geez...what a cute idea! I barely made pancakes for Grace to get out the door on her first day!
Centerpiece and all?!?! You're such a cute "super mom"! Great idea!
Hmmm...FHE...Maybe I should consider that. ;)
Kecia you are the cutest mom ever and your girls are adorable! I can't imagine what it is like to send off a first grader. Kyson starts preschool on tuesday and I am dreading it.
Could you be a cuter mom? Honestly! I look at that picture of you and Ky, and it looks like you can't possibly have a 1st grader! You're just like your mom, and will be lucky enough to look young your whole life!!!
That is awesome! What a great idea! You are such a darling mom. And Kyra looked so cute on her first day...I can't believe you have a first grader!
I love the idea of a family theme, and a theme dinner, how fun!! Sorry it took so long to respond to your question, advice on how I got Ella to walk early. I've been thinking and honestly I can take NO credit at all. Her school is amazing, and Ella just was really motivated to move, always has been. She is also very good at compensating for where she is weak, like her core is really weak but somehow she uses her legs to hold it all up. She is just fiesty and does whatever she wants to do : )
You are so creative!! I am glad we have found each other. You guys look like you are doing good and your family is gorgeous!! Where are you guys living?
Where do you find the time! Wow! I bet Kyra was happy to come home to that. What a fun day! Way to go Super Mom!!!
