Bree's Surgery

Bree's Day went like this:

Mom and Dad wake me up from my nice warm bed at 5:45 am and put me in the cold car without even giving me a bottle but I still smile and laugh all the way to the hospital.

We sat in this waiting room where I got to play with some fun toys for awhile.

I tried really hard to figure out how to climb onto this table but I never quite got it.

Then we went into another room and mom put these silly clothes and socks on me

Dad, get this thing off my leg!!

The bed was a lot of fun to play on though

Hanging with mom and dad at 6:30 in the morning

I found this cool spinning stool to enterain myself with for awhile, while a few different doctors came in and out to talk to mom and dad.

Then some lady came and took me on a wagon ride

I tried to help her with her paperwork but she wouldn't let me.

Then I had to wave bye to mom and dad and the next time I saw them I was pretty mad! I didn't know I would fall asleep and then wake up with no adenoid and with something called tubes in my ears!

This is how I spent the rest of the day at home; sad, sore and tired.
Everything went well. Bree was REALLY upset when they took us to her after the surgery. They say it is both from being sore and from feeling really confused from waking up from the anesthesia. Once we got her home she calmed down a little better. Her nose bled for a lot of the day because of the adenoid removal but after a couple naps and lots of couch and cuddle time she was feeling much better. They said her adenoid was pretty big so they think it will help to have it gone. They had to run a little IV too on her little hand. As I sat in the waiting room I felt so grateful that she has been so healthy and that this was the only surgery we had to sit through because it was bad enough on my nerves! I can't imagine waiting through a major surgery! So now we just hope the tubes do their job!!

I'm glad that's behind you guys. She's such a pleasant little girl. Her smiles make me smile as I read this. I hope her recovery is swift.

So hard to have your child go through something like that. I am glad to hear that all went well and now you can relax as well!

I was just about to call you to see how things went when I saw this post. So, now you can feel happy that you don't have to talk to me today! You know little Bree must have been through a lot to be that grumpy afterward! Poor thing. I sure hope the surgery helps her! Glad that is over and done and everything went well.

What a relief! I'm so glad everything went well. Surgeries are no fun...especially when you just have to send away your baby and trust that everyone will take care of her! I hope she will recover quickly and get all of this yuckiness behind her!

Poor Bree! Glad that's over. I don't believe you though about Bree being upset--I've never seen her without a smile.

That does sound scary, even when it is an easy procedure. Glad everything went okay and I hope Bree is happier now that she's had a little time to recover. I loved all the pix of her smiling in every step up until the surgery.

On another note, Ryan's doing a rotation in Utah. :) So, we're here through mid-January. I REALLY want to see you guys this time, longer than 20 minutes if at all possible.

I quickly scanned this post a few days ago in my google reader and just now had a chance to get on to read it through. I clicked over to your blog and noticed that once again we have picked the same backgrounds. We must have good taste. I am glad to hear Bree is doing good. After just having a brief experience at Primarys with Chloe (RSV) I can only imagine how hard this all is for you. There is nothing worse than watching your child go through pain. You are a good mom.
