Spring Break

Kyra had 10 days off of school (counting the weekends) for spring break so we decided to make the most of it and do lots of fun things. We were all fighting sickness most of the week but we didn't let that slow us down too much. Bree had it the worst-she had a fever of 101 for two days which turned out to be a bad ear infection so once the antibiotic kicked in she felt lots better. So here goes the recap of the week (sorry it is looking like a lengthy post).....

MONDAY:
The girls had slept over at Grandma Linda's the night before and Chaly and Cam were still in town for the morning so we headed up to the outlets for a little bit and then came back to Grandma's for some playtime. Kyra discovered that she likes "shooting hoops" with Bret and Jess. She did that most of the day.

TUESDAY:
The weather was GORGEOUS and warm so we walked over to the park with a group of friends. The kids were so excited to get to ride their bikes over. We had lunch and even got a little sunkissed.

Halle, Adrie, Natalie, Kyra and Emma hanging out at the park.

WEDNESDAY:
The weather was not quite as nice as the day before but the kids didn't mind so we headed to another park with Mary and Julie.

Adrie thought this banana swing was really fun!
Sadie and Kyra relaxing (my camera battery died after this so I missed out on the rest of the crew)

THURSDAY:

We went from playing at the park to waking up to snow on Thursday so we headed to the Discovery Museum for the day. We have always wanted to check it out but it is pretty pricy so when Julie K. had buy one get one free tickets we were thrilled! We went with Julie K, Julie D. and Amy. It is a cute place for the kids to play. They have houses and cars and stores and farms to play in but we laughed because Halle and Kyra played in the little cars the most-which they have at home (except theirs doesn't have this cool two seater).

Kyra and Halle shopping. Adrie shopping.

The kids all got to go to the little art class and do finger printing projects. They had a great time!

Adrie was very interested in the magnifying glass.
Kyra and her finger prints
The lab coats were so cute!
They all sang head, shoulders, knees, and toes before the class started.
FRIDAY:
We decided to finish out the week with Build a Bear. The girls had saved some money and wanted to make some new "bear friends". Halle and Aidan joined them and it was a lot of fun! It is such a cute store with so many fun things to choose from-too many!
First they got to help stuff the bears and put a heart inside....

Adrie HATES loud noises (and this wasn't really that loud) so she plugged her ears as she stuffed her puppy.Next they get to give them baths and clean them up......
Then they name them and dress them. Adrie chose to name her puppy Alisia and Kyra named her bear Leis. (Notice how similar the names are--Adrie is getting smarter about copying Kyra-now she just uses part of Kyra's idea so Kyra doesn't realize she is copying her and get mad).
Here they are with their new friends! So Cute!
Friday night we went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks with my family. It was a funny little show-the kids really liked it.

As I was going through pictures of the week I noticed a trend. Every activity we did I had a picture of Bree in the same position in the stroller-just different clothes. It made me laugh! You can tell she didn't feel well most of the week because she isn't near as smily as usual but she was still so good and went along with all the activities.

Although we couldn't go on a vacation because of Kris's busy time of year, it was so nice to just be able to play all week and not have a schedule to keep-especially in the morning. I think Kyra's favorite part was being able to hang out in her PJ"s each morning and watch cartoons instead of rushing out the door to school. She did tell me that she is excited to go back to school tomorrow because she misses her teacher. I am glad she loves school because there are no more breaks until summer.

Happy Easter!

Easter morning was a little crazy trying to have an egg hunt, check out the baskets full of goodies, curl hair, get dressed, get my lesson stuff together, remember Kyra's pictures for her talk, ATTEMPT to take a good picture and get to church by 9:00. Needless to say I was not in "good spirits" when we left the house, but once we got to church it was a lot better.

The girls checking out their baskets.

Hunting for eggs is always so exciting. bree enjoyred playing with the eggs too!My sweet Adrie always wants to hold her dress "like a princess"

The girls were most excited about their princess watches and "Enchanted". I am pretty sure they have watched it at least five times already.

After church we attempted a few more pictures...
It is SO fun dressing three girls in cute dresses-especially when I luck out and find matching ones in all three sizes! I am sad that it is getting harder and harder to match them all.
Mom and the girls!
Dad and the girls-he likes pictures SO much!

After church we went to my moms for her YUMMY ham and potatoes! She is a GREAT cook! Which is why I choose to eat at her house most sundays!
This was the only picture that somewhat turned out of the cousins-at least they are all sitting still.

Chaly and BreeMy sisters! Chaly, my mom, Lida and me
Hope everyone had a great Easter too!

Coloring Eggs Part 2

Saturday we went to Tysen's house to color eggs and have an Easter egg hunt. We had lots of fun and enjoyed the nice weather!
After the egg coloring we headed to the back yard for the egg hunt. It is so fun to watch kids run around and get so excited about finding each egg.

Bree was not really a fan of the scratchy grass!

All the cousins checking out their loot! Thanks Tysen for hosting the festivities!

Coloring Eggs Part 1

Friday night my family all came over to color Easter eggs ( Lida and Brandon and Tate-we missed you). We had a great time! I have to laugh when I think of the ritual of giving children colored dye -that stains- and eggs and just letting them go to town! No wonder they love it-because it is only ok once a year!

Adrie was so funny about these eggs she called "her sillies" She had put eyes and mouth stickers on them and enjoyed showing them off like this to everyone!

Kyra coloring her eggs.
Adrie was very concentrated on what she was doing.
me and my girls!
We got Bree in one picture and then she was so tired she went to bed.
Adrie, mom, Amy, Chaly and Kyra
We were all really excited that Chaly and Cam decided to come up for the weekend too. Cam had major surgery on his shoulder friday morning and they left the hospital and came straight here. What a trooper! He was pretty funny to watch on his pain meds too! Thanks for coming-we miss you guys!
Growing up my dad used to tell the best bedtime stories! They really just got us more hyper and less ready for bed but they sure were fun! So he told the girls he would tell them one and they were laughing and screaming the whole time and then they ended up back downstairs under this blanket sneaking up to tickle grandma! What fun!
