Mama Linda's Concert

My mom is in this cute singing group and they had their big fall concert a few weeks ago.
Kyra had dance that night so Kris stayed with her and Adrie and I had a date together to grandma's concert.

September Birthdays

September is FULL of birthdays with our families. My brother Jess turned the BIG 16!! Bree and grandma and I surprised him at school with balloons and treats to embarrass him!
Kris's family celebrated 5 September birthdays!

Tysen made these cute cupcakes

Madi, The twins (Griffin and Crew ), Andrew and Shaley all have September Birthdays so we had one BIG party with everyone!

Shaley and all her cards....(we don't do gifts for the adults on Kris's side, just cards)

Now Shay has Roman to get her something besides cards!

Bree and Ava LOVED the ball toy the twins got!

Green Ribbon Week

Well Julie and I survived our first big PTA event. We are on the board as the health and safety commisioners so we were in charge of Green Ribbon Week together last week. It was a crazy busy week and we felt like we lived at the school, but it turned out really good. The first day we planned to do a big balloon launch for the kickoff and every student would get to release a green balloon for signing their pledge to be safe. We spent the entire day at the school blowing up 550 balloons and of course the only hour we needed it to be good weather, it was raining and lightning so we couldn't take all the students out on the field at once like we planned. We improvised and took them out one grade at a time in front of the school so they could come right back in and not have to be out in the rain. We did have the newspaper show up and do a little clip on the event, which was cool but it would have been lots better with 550 of them being launched at the same time. Oh well what do you do? The kids still seemed to enjoy it!

Tuesday was "Protect you Head day" everyone wore crazy hats and we held a drawing for bike helmets for anyone that wore a crazy hat.
Tuesday we also helped with the bonus recess the kids had earned from selling Happenings books.

Adrie wore her crazy mask from preschool instead of a crazy hat.

Wednesday was "walk to school day" We passed out fruit snacks to everyone walking to school.

Thursday was "You CAN be Safe" - we had everyone bring cans of food to donate to the food bank. We collected 487 pounds of food in one day. Not bad!
Friday was "Be seen in Green"-everyone who wore green got green taffy at lunch-almost the entire school had worn green. It was great. We also had an emergency drill to end the safety week.
Kyra thought it was great that we were at the school so much last week and this week she keeps asking if we are going to be there again this week.

1st day of Preschool

Adrie started preschool last week and she was really excited! Very different from Kyra about starting school, she didn't shed any tears.

When we were getting ready to leave Bree got Adrie's backpack on and headed to the door

When I wouldn't let her just take off out the door this is what she did....so sad

Adrie heading out the door to her first day of preschool

She has cute friends from the neighborhood who are doing preschool with her. Aiden, Adrie and Mercedes

Adrie and Miss Julie or Miss Silly as the neighborhood kids like to call her. She is in our ward and the kids adore her.

Me and my Adrie Lou Bell

Adrie just walked right in with no problems. She held Aiden's hand the whole time because he was a little nervous. She told me later that day that everyone thought they were brother and sister and then some people thought they were cousins and she said "finally Aiden said to them, 'for the last time we are just friends", it was funny.

Bree waltzed right in too and just assumed she was staying. She got a baby doll and some books and made herself comfortable

Another friend, Beck (he came after the group picture)

The youngest siblings heading out of preschool together

Griffin, Avery and Bree

We went with some friends to Einsteins for a bagel while the kids were in preschool

When we picked the kids up Adrie was excited to show me her basket

Then since the preschool is at the same school grandma works at and Bret and Jess go to, we went to say hi.

Me and my girls

Jess and Adrie-Jess was so cute, he ran right over to Adrie when he saw her out at lunch-even in front of all his friends he wasn't embarrassed that his neices were their to see him

Bret and Adrie.

When we found where Bret was sitting at lunch we went over to say hi to him and I was so impressed with him and his friends. Bret is a student body officer and very involoved and popluar and him and his cute cute friends were all sitting at this table and when I walked up they said "Kecia this is our friend Berkely" and I look over and there is this cute girl with down syndrome sitting at their table with all these cute boys. I went over to talk to her and she put her hand out and said "Hi I am Berkeley, I am a sophomore" She proceeded to tell me how she loves school and how nice these boys are. I was so impressed with these senior boys to be including this cute girl. It made me a little teary because I just hope and pray that there are good boys (and girls) that will be that kind to Bree someday.

All in all it was a good day and I am glad Adrie is enjoying it. It is easier for me to let her do it because it is only an hour and a half long. We have a carpool so we only have to drive once a week and the other day when Julie K brought Adrie home Julie D and I were working on PTA stuff in the kitchen and Adrie comes in and says "Ahh It's good to be home with you all again!" Adrie's little personality just cracks me up.
