Memorial Day

After we all got ready for church I realized that I was matching my girls too so we had to snap a picture of our black attire. I had to convince Adrie that her dress was something a princess would wear-even though she thought black was not a princess color.
We have been trying to work on standing with Bree lately and this is one of the best she has done. She is holding on but she is standing the correct way on her feet so that is a big step for her. She has a long way to go but she is at least starting to attempt it more.

Sunday after church we went out to my Grandma and Grandpa's grave. My grandpa died when my mom was 18 and my grandma died when I was pregnant with Kyra so my girls never met them. I wish they could have known my grandma because she was the sweetest woman you will ever meet.

The girls were so sweet. When we explained where we were going they decided to gather some flowers from my mom's yard to put on their great grandma's grave and they placed each flower down individually and very carefully.

Me and my girls-Bree was asleep at my mom's so Kris stayed with her.
Kyra took this picture of Chaly and Cam-we love that they are here for the summer.
My mom brought my grandparents wedding picture so the girls could see who we were visiting.
my mom and dad

We used to love playing in this big tree when we would visit grandpa's grave with our cousins growing up.
My mom, Chaly, me, Adrie, Kyra and Amy
The rest of the weekend we spent most of the time at my family's because Curt and Amy are moving to Brazil for 6 months so it was the last time we could all be together for awhile. We played games. ate and hung out.
I LOVE this funny picture of Bree wearing Kyra's glasses. What a pose!Monday we took some family pictures in my parents back yard-the ones of everyone were not on my camera though.

A Mom's Heartache

I had a terrible experience of heartache today. Apparantly Kyra was chosen to recieve two awards at an assembly today and we were supposed to be notified by mail to come. Well unfortunately (that's an understatement) the letter to us some how got lost because we were never notified that she was recieving these awards so the devastating result was that I missed it! She came home and as she was getting off the bus I could tell something was wrong and my neighbor informed me that she had been at the assembly for her son and that Kyra had got these awards. My heart literally hurt! I didn't know how I was supposed to explain to Kyra that I hadn't even known she was getting these awards and why I had not been there for her. When we got home she sat on my lap, curled up on my shoulder and started crying. She cried for a good 15 minutes. Then we were both crying. It was the worst feeling to not be able to rewind and be there for her big moment of receiving her first school award. i haven't missed a fieldtrip or class party or anything all year and then I miss this! The worst part about it is that I was just sitting at home unaware of what I was missing-I didn't even have a conflict-I just never got the invitation. So needless to say we had to do something for a little celebration and cheering up and Kyra chose McDonald's as her "special lunch". Luckily after our tears we got a cute picture of her with her awards. I was so proud of her for getting these! She got the citizenship award and an Eagle award from the principal. Only 4 kids in her class got them so it was pretty cool!

What a fun mess!

Well the remodeling of the kitchen has begun. What a mess it is already and it has only been a day since we have been living in the mess. Kris loves the demolition part of the project!
The microwave and "pantry" are currently located in my office area.

The fridge is in my living room-yikes-look at the dust on the top of the fridge!
This is what the kitchen currently looks like. Having no sink is the hardest part.

My table is in the family room-which the girls think is cool because they can watch T.V. and eat meals at the same time. So this is the fun mess we get to live in for the next 2 weeks. It makes me glad Bree isn't walking because she can't get into the mess. We will be very sick of fast food by the time the kitchen is done. I am VERY excited to get it done. I will post before and after pictures in a few weeks but for now we are enjoying some good dust and mess!

Girls Gone Wild

Who knew that a quick trip to the outlets could turn so "wild"? Mary, Julie and I got away for a few hours for a little shopping and as we were getting to the outlets we passed the official "girls gone wild" bus in a hotel parking lot so we took a photo op! The funny thing was that a minivan full of other moms was turning around to do the same thing! So we took pictures of eachother (rated G of course) and had some BIG laughs! As we were taking pictures this guy walks up and starts getting in the bus and he tells us that he has to confiscate the pictures. He was so serious about it that we started to believe him but then he just laughed. Next thing we knew he was getting us all official "girls gone wild" tank tops! WOW! We even got a free souvenior out of it all. What a random, fun little addition to our quick shopping trip!!

Kindergarten Zoo and Wheeler Farm

Friday was "Kindergarten Zoo" at Kyra's class! Her teacher is this incredible lady who always does reallly fun, creative things and this was one of the many she has put together for her class this year! Each of the kids had to choose an animal and they worked on learning about their animal and becoming "animal experts" on their animal for a few weeks at school. They even wrote simple reports at school. So on friday they had to dress up as their animal. Kyra was a giraffe-perfect timing for the Gap to carry a giraffe line of girls clothing! Kyra and her friend Ashlyn who was also a giraffe.

Kyra's wild animal class.
Each student had to get up in front of everyone and tell what they had learned about their animal. Mrs. Lightfoot was the "zookeeper". It was so cute! The kids did a great job!Adrie wanted to wear the cool giraffe mask too.
Close up of the giraffe-look at those eyes pearing out!

Wheeler Farm-

After Kyra was out of school Tysen, Lacey, Lindey, Shaley and Camme and the kids came up and we all went to see more animals at Wheeler Farm.

The kids fed the ducks......
Bree had been REALLY sick for the last week and was finally feeling a little better. She was a trooper even though she still wasn't feeling well. Cool tongue trick she is doing..
The twins having lunch! Isn't this little set up great! They have these cool bottle holders to hold their bottles for them in their car seats. I LOVE how they play with eachother's toes!
The cousins!
Mazie, Adrie, and Kyra

After lunch we took a wagon ride behind the tractor.
The kids LOVED it!
me, Bree, and Andrew, How do I look with a boy?
Lindey, Andrew, Madi, and Kyra
We had a lot of fun! It was nice to have everyone come to our neck of the woods for an outing! Thanks guys!

Mother's Day!

We took these pictures a few weeks ago when we went to Temple Square for family night but since I didn't have pictures from today for mother's day I thought I would post them here. (The grounds were SO beautiful that night).

We had a great mother's day today! The girls woke me up to a yummy breakfast they had made with Kris. At church they sang two songs-my favorite part of Mother's day! I love seeing their cute little faces up there-Adrie's barely reached over the banister. After church they gave me their cute little gifts they had made at church and at school. Kyra gave me this darling flower pot they had painted at school and this cute card she wrote by herself and a cute boook they made at school. The book was so cute I wanted to share some of it (they had to fill in the blanks: "My mom is pretty as a princess. She is 15 years old. She has green eyes and brown hair
and is 10 feet tall. Her favorite food is brocolli. In the good old days when she was little she used to play with toys. I think mom is funny when she tickles me. I wouldn't trade my Mom for money. I love my mom because she is the best "persan erer". SO CUTE!

Adrie wrapped this cute little keychain that said I love mom and she had it wrapped so cute in a piece of paper. They had both kept their gifts hidden in their rooms all weekend. These little gifts are the best payment you can get for being a mom! I LOVE them! Kris gave me a bike trailer/stroller so we can get bikes now and go for bike rides as a family! I am SO excited! He also gave me a sweet card and a gift card to the cheesecake factory-YUM! Thanks Kris and my girls for such a great mothers day! I LOVE being a mom to this GREAT family!!

Archuletta and the playoffs

Friday night Kris and I got to go to the jazz playoff game and see David Archuletta sing the national anthem! We had 12th row tickets behind the jazz bench and it was SO much fun! The playoffs are so much more fun than regular season.
I couldn't believe how many cameras the poor guy had in his face while he was trying to sing! The crowd cheered louder for him than for the Jazz.
WOW! What a voice! And could he be any sweeter?!
He stayed and watched the first half of the game and he sat like 6 rows in front of us in the section over from us so I had a great time watching him. People kept trying to get close to him to get autographs and stuff but the security kept them away and he was so cute apologizing as they had to leave. Then suddenly people started figuring out that they could pass him shirts through the rows of people. The poor guy couldn't even watch much of the game. When he left the whole row in front of him had his signatures on their backs and they all got right on their cell phones-I am sure to tell someone who they had sat by. He was really sweet to watch. Kris gave me a hard time that I only came to the game to see David and that I didn't even know there was a game going on the first half.

We all got to wear these cool shirts that they gave out! Too bad it fit me more like a nightgown!

Here is a little clip of him singing. Not the greatest quality but it gives a little bit of the song. Kris only filmed the first part though so he missed the really high notes that he hit so well! It was a fun night out!
