Mexican Riviera-Day 1 and 2

WOW! Where do I even begin to post about a week long vacation! Kris and I went on a 7 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera with our good friends Mark and Mary and we had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!! We ate ALOT, laughed EVEN MORE, and RELAXED! So I am going to document probably more than most people care about but I want to remember everything so here goes...

DAY 1

Kris and I boarding the plane-I have never had to walk like 3 miles outside of the airport to get on a plane, fortunately we ended up on a plane that at least had more than just propellers-like the ones we passed on our long trek to the plane.Kris,me, Mary and Mark as we were "embarking" onto the Golden Princess cruise ship. We had a few hours on board the ship before it actually left the port so we decided to give ourselves a tour of the ships many amenities. Our first stop of course was the 24 hour buffet. We were frequent visitors here throughout the week. Our schedules through the week mostly revolved around meals and multiple snacks! We enjoyed the "sailaway sounds" of "Cafe Caliente" as we left the port for our journey at sea. Touring the multiple pools onboard-before all the great "people watching" passengers were onboard. Can I just say that the people watching on a cruise ship is top notch! We enjoyed SO many good laughs while observing the unique "friends" we made onboard. We had nicknames for multiple "friends" and I only wish we had sufficient pictures to document the great styles and dance moves we witnessed. Many thanks to Cottontop, Barbie, Scott, brown shirt/moves lady, red mullet, piggie tail grandma, peach dress, pool dancing deck lady, and speedy Robert! In the promenade you could always enjoy some good mexican music to set the mood for our voyage.Enjoying the first evening at sea.

DAY 2-----

We spent the first part of the day relaxing and playing games before the sun came out.

Mary and I enjoying the view from the back of the boat overlooking the pool. One of my favorite treats was the ice cream bar! When the day warmed up we played some shuffleboard and soaked up some rays (well except for Mark, he mostly soaked up the sunscreen)

Ping Pong and Shuffleboard-we were REALLY good at both-can't you tell by our form?!What would a sundeck be without a giant chessboard?

Each night we would get showered (yes that was one of my favorite things-showering at 4:00 and then taking my time to get ready, and then eating a nice meal and actually enjoying conversations without feeling frazzled from kids) This was our first "formal night". It was so fun to get dolled up for dinner with my sexy hubby (and mark and Mary of course). Ok this next string of pictures is to show the process it took to get Kris to take a picture-he was as bad as my kids!

Attempt #1:
Attemt #2:

Attempt #3:
Attempt #4-success!

We got some great "prom poses" each formal night!
After dinner we headed up to deck 18 to the skywalkers nightclub to bust a move to "DJ Emotion's" tunes! It was a cool view from up there and "DJ emotion" was so dear to our hearts!

Mark and Kris created quite a bond while at sea-actually closer than Mary and I anticipated. They wanted to embrace and take pictures with eachother constantly and they were always coniving something together.

Day3-at sea

Day 3 was spent cruisin all day so we enjoyed lots of time at the pool. It was so nice to actually be able to lay out without chasing kids. We enjoyed lots of good entertainment on the pool deck too. You feel like such royalty as you are lounging in the warm sun and the "cabana boys" walk around bringing drinks at your becan call.We usually camped out on the upper deck of the pool for the best view of all the festivities.....bar wars, survivor challenges, dancing, etc. We had a balcony off of our room so I took pictures each day of the view from the balcony. The first three days it looked about the same-lots of water and sky.

We enjoyed many random activities together. We played a little mini golf and then somehow found ourselves in the wedding chapel. Needless to say most of the trip we were really weird and really hyper. Throughout the cruise people kept confusing who was with who, so we decided to see what that would look like----not very good. We really don't fit with eachothers spouses! Don't worry there was no priest present so these are only pretend.

Dinner in the dining room

Enjoying the beautiful sunset over the ocean!

What could be better than stealing a kiss in the sunset?!

THE WILD NIGHT..........

This night was one of the funnest in terms of laughing and being crazy. We started out the evening with some great contemporary pictures. Each night the cruise offered professional portraits and this night they were "contemporary" so we told the photographer to choose the cheesiest positions she could think of and she went to town with the four of us as her subjects. I REALLY wish I had the pictures to post because they were hilarious! We were lauughing so hard we couldn't stand up! She had us doing dog piles, jumping in the air kicking up our heels, and all sorts of cheesy poses!

After the pictures we headed to the "dancing through the decades" with the dear cruise staff. (more to come on them later) We enjoyed lots of fun music-especially from the 80's! Somehow we got roped into the hula hoop contest and some Madonna lip sync thing.

And the winner is..........Madonna #3-Kris!!!

Apparantly, our social life outside of children can get a little crazy. We just didn't know what to do with our "non-parent" selves and the result was lots of "wreckiness" (for those who don't know the K&A lingo-that means weirdness, or craziness.) and LOTS OF LAUGHS!!! Who knew we could have more fun than the drunk people and still be able to remember it all the next morning?!

Wreckiness

The cruise brought out many old sides of our friendship. Mary and I's friendship goes back to junior high so we knew eachother's crazy sides. Mark joined in on our antics at Ricks when we made him do his best jump kick for us. For some reason he has always had strange urges to do weird things to me and my cousin/Ricks counterpart-Lexi, so when we decided to go on the cruise with them I was well aware of what I might be in for with Mark, but none of us knew how Kris would fit into the whole craziness.....WELL He fit better than expected and he joined right in and decided that he would torment Mary to no end, so we pretty much created

ourselves a disasterous foursome!

This face is known as "hard"-dedicated to the good old high school days! We had lots of time on the cruise to reminisce about all our high school friends and all our high school memories! It was lots of fun!
NO, Mark is NOT really kissing me! It was all for show! We were waiting for "princess pop star" to start and of course we were hyper so we posed for some pictures-we can always take random pictures when looking for something to kill time!

More posing-only for show! Yes, we had to explain to Kyra that these were not real kisses-well at least on my part that is!

This was our ATTEMPT at being seductive on demand! As you can tell we really aren't that good at it-the demand part that is, in our day to day normal "mom" life it is rare that someone tells us to strike a seductive pose, so we were a little thrown off!

Kris and I by the leaning tower!

Kris and Mark embracing-yet again! This time in the elevator!

Chilling in the Princess Theatre enjoying some strawberry daiquiri's! They were DELICIOUS!

When we asked for non alcholic ones the waiter tried to convince us that they were way too sweet without the alcohol and we really should just have the alcohol in them, but we held our ground.

Kris and Mark thought they could pull off better seductive poses than the girls......I don't know.....

Mary and Kris's lovely self portrait.

Senor' Frogs...
For some reason, Mark loved showing his chest any chance he could.

These are some of the awesome souvenirs we could have bought in Mazatlan-we really should have got you the shirt Mary!

This picture is dedicated to the good old Ricks days! Mark decided we should practice our best jump kicks-even in our skirts, in the wind.....it made for some REALLY good laughs!

This picture takes the cake! Mary wins for best "hard" face!!!

We had so many laughs!!! I really can't remember the last time I have laughed as hard and as much as we did on this trip! It was just what I needed!
