The Ikea Craze!

Ok, yes we were one of the crazy people who ventured to the grand opening of the new Ikea store. No, we did not camp out there, and yes, I took my three children with me! It was a madhouse but it was fun to do something different. We didn't get one of the gift cards but we did get Ikea water bottles, frisbees, and balloons! Exciting I know! We also got quite the heroes welcome as we entered the store. The employees were lined up cheering with balloons and we felt more like we had won a race then entered a retail store. As we were winding through the ropes in the line outside (which actually moved quite well) Kyra said "this is kindof like Disneyland!" Unfortunately there was no ride or princess waiting for her at the end though. When we were standing in the line to check out (this line didn't move so well) we were caught on camera by one of the local news stations, so this is our claim to fame picture that was on the stations website! I'm afraid I will become a frequent visitor to this new store!

3 months old

Bree is all smiles lately and it is so fun! She can't hold her body still when she smiles-she just lights up! She is working hard on getting her neck stronger but she is really pretty strong everywhere else. She has a therapist come once a month to practice some of her exercises. She is doing great and getting bigger every day! We are starting to get involved in some of the activities for down syndrome. Kris got to golf in a tournament for the utah down syndrome foundation.

"Baby" Bree

Bree has become a real life doll for the girls. They decided (with dad's help) to put Bree in their doll stroller and then they tried her out in their doll bunkbed! It was very funny! Bree wasn't so sure what was going on though.

When Adrie saw Bree on the bunkbed she decided she wanted to try it too! I can't belive she is 2 1/2 and she could fit on the doll bed! What a wee head!

Kyra's Preschool Graduation

The Big Graduation Day!!

The kids sang songs and then they each had a little paper read about them by their "Big Friend". In Kyra's we learned that her favorite word is "whatever"! We also learned that she only colors at craft time with her favorite colors and you can't use a color if it is not on her list of "favorite colors". It was fun to hear about what she is like when we are not around!

Kyra and her "Big Friend" Kelsey

Kyra, Adrie and Tate enjoying the cookies afterwards!

Kyra's "Big Friend" Danielle!!

Kyra and her friend Jaxon!

Kyra and her teacher, Miss Julie. Kyra was glad she didn't have to say goodbye to Miss Julie for good because she lives in our neighborhood! Lucky for Kyra!

GOALLLLL!!!!!!!!

KYRA SCORED TWO GOALS AT HER SOCCER GAME!!

She was sooooo excited and she was expecially excited that her uncles were there to see it! She told them that she only scores goals for them so they need to come to all her games! The team we played was funny because they only had 4 players and only one of their players actually played. The one who played was really good and Kyra was the only one on our team who would dare to get near her. It is so fun to see how much Kyra has come out of her shell in the last year. A year ago she wouldn't have gone out on the field and now she is scoring goals and loving being out there with people watching her.

Adrie is Kyra's biggest cheerleader! She likes to cheer on the sidelines and says that when she is bigger she will play soccer and Bree will cheer for her!

Ellie's birthday

Happy Birthday Ellie!

We went swimming in the day for cousin Ellie's birthday and then went to Brick Oven for dinner. The girls were so excited when the balloon man said he could make any Princess-including Tinkerbell. So Mazie and Kyra of course chose Tinkerbell!

Adrie chose "Rell-Rell" (Cinderella) and she even wanted to sleep with her balloon princess that night!

Spring is Here

Adrie was excited to get out her new sunglasses and put them to good use outside at the park!

Bree stretching out in the shade!

We went to the park and had a picnic-grandma Linda style. She brought one of her delicious salads that she just creates with her unique little twists and we ate and ate and ate some more while the kids played on the playground with uncle Jess.

Cousin Tate

It has been lots of fun having cousin Tate (and Lida and Brandon) living with us. The kids think it is great to have Tate "sleepover" every night. Tate is now saying Kyra (in his own way) and he looks all around the house for "bbbb" or Bree. He also calls Kyra's doll Bree and is learning how to play house with the girls. They haven't dressed him up yet-lucky for Brandon. We have spent lots of time outside and at the park because the weather has been warming up and that makes mom and kids much happier people!

Bree's Blessing

It was so fun to put Bree in the same dress the other two girls were blessed in! We have got good use out of that dress. She looked so beautiful and sweet! Kris gave her a beautiful blessing and I was emotional as moms always are at these things! It was great to have all of our family there with us (Chaly and Cam we missed you!)

More Blessing Festivities

Bree is so lucky to have two beautiful sisters who adore her-sometimes they adore her too much!

Mom and little Bree!

Smiles for Papa

Bree was all smiles while Papa Steve was holding her. She would smile so big her whole body would light up. Bree has a very contagious smile that makes your heart melt!
