Ok so i am a total mess today! This first day of kindergarten was harder than I thought! I just assumed I would get a little teary eyed but no, I was a big blubber baby-crying my eyes out! One of the moms in Kyra's class put her arm around me and said "this is my fifth and I am still a mess." I have been trying to avoid the emotions for the last few days but when Kris gave her her "school blessing" last night it all started to be too real. I can't believe I am old enough to have a kindergartener and I can't believe how fast these five years of her life have gone! It is hard to let her go when she has been with only me for five years. It is just the beginning of a whole different world. I know she will have a great time but sometimes I wish I could just keep them in my little safety net forever!

Kyra in front of her classroom door! She looks so cute and grown up!
Kyra and her teacher Mrs. Lightfoot! We love that name-it is perfect for a kindergarten teacher!
Kyra posing before school! she kept telling me to hurry because she didn't want to be late!

Adrie wanted to pose with Kyra

Kyra has been counting down the days till school starts and she was most concerned about what shoes would look best with her dress. At first she didn't want socks because they wouldn't "look very pretty" but then she found some that met her standards. The fashion thing starts so young!
mom and Kyra in front of Julie's house. Julie watched the other girls so I could take Kyra.

Kyra sitting at her table! She had already shed tears outside and she was trying to hold them back here! I was so proud of her for being so brave and putting on a smile through the tears!

this is Kyra's friend Emma who immediately found Kyra on the playground before school and invited her to go play while they were waiting to go inside. Emma is 7 and Kyra is glad to have her around to show her the ropes

I LOVED this picture!

Ky on her new playground!

After school we picked Kyra up because Adrie wanted to see where her school was but Kyra informed me that she is ready to ride the bus tommorrow!

We met grandma for lunch and ice cream after school! When grandma asked Kyra what she did after mom left she said "just cried a little and then we made a puzzle". After we got in the car from school she told me "I was just a little nervous at first but then it was fun!"

Grandma Linda gave the girls this big bag of "back to school goodies"! She is always so thoughtful and goes above and beyond doing little things for everyone all the time. Thanks grandma!

So we survived the first day and she came out all smiles and said she was excited to go back!
