Kyra's first day of Kindergarten

Ok so i am a total mess today! This first day of kindergarten was harder than I thought! I just assumed I would get a little teary eyed but no, I was a big blubber baby-crying my eyes out! One of the moms in Kyra's class put her arm around me and said "this is my fifth and I am still a mess." I have been trying to avoid the emotions for the last few days but when Kris gave her her "school blessing" last night it all started to be too real. I can't believe I am old enough to have a kindergartener and I can't believe how fast these five years of her life have gone! It is hard to let her go when she has been with only me for five years. It is just the beginning of a whole different world. I know she will have a great time but sometimes I wish I could just keep them in my little safety net forever!

Kyra in front of her classroom door! She looks so cute and grown up!

Kyra and her teacher Mrs. Lightfoot! We love that name-it is perfect for a kindergarten teacher!

Kyra posing before school! she kept telling me to hurry because she didn't want to be late!

Adrie wanted to pose with Kyra

Kyra has been counting down the days till school starts and she was most concerned about what shoes would look best with her dress. At first she didn't want socks because they wouldn't "look very pretty" but then she found some that met her standards. The fashion thing starts so young!

mom and Kyra in front of Julie's house. Julie watched the other girls so I could take Kyra.

Kyra sitting at her table! She had already shed tears outside and she was trying to hold them back here! I was so proud of her for being so brave and putting on a smile through the tears!this is Kyra's friend Emma who immediately found Kyra on the playground before school and invited her to go play while they were waiting to go inside. Emma is 7 and Kyra is glad to have her around to show her the ropesI LOVED this picture!Ky on her new playground! After school we picked Kyra up because Adrie wanted to see where her school was but Kyra informed me that she is ready to ride the bus tommorrow! We met grandma for lunch and ice cream after school! When grandma asked Kyra what she did after mom left she said "just cried a little and then we made a puzzle". After we got in the car from school she told me "I was just a little nervous at first but then it was fun!"Grandma Linda gave the girls this big bag of "back to school goodies"! She is always so thoughtful and goes above and beyond doing little things for everyone all the time. Thanks grandma! So we survived the first day and she came out all smiles and said she was excited to go back!

Zoo Outing

So before I get to the big kindergarten day I have to catch up from last week. We went to the Zoo with my mom and brothers and my sister and her little boy for one last outing before everyone went back to school. The temperature was just right for walking around the zoo because it wasn't scorching hot. The kids always love the train!
After the train ride we had a picnic
Cute hat Ky!
The gang in front of the zoo!
It seems like I have a lot of pictures of Bree sleeping in the stroller this summer!
The giraffes are one of my favorite animals to see.
Kyra , Adrie and tate riding the tigers! We went to some fun shows this time like the bird show, where we learned that tate must have got his screeching sound from the barn owl! He sounded just like him!

Grandma wanted a picture in front of this drinking fountain because we have one there when we were kids.

tate and Bree ready to go
Kyra and Adrie had to check their maps often to see where we would go next!
Bret and Adrie! The girls will miss B & J when they go back to school and get busy in sports again!
Grandma and Bree in the white alligator exhibit
The elephant show was another fun one! This elephant did all sorts of tricks-she even played fetch!

Go Eagles!

Wow! I can't believe it has been ten years since high school! We had our reunion this weekend and it was so much fun to see everyone! We had a picnic in the day with the families and then a dinner that night for adults only. Kris was such a good sport and went with me to both events. It was fun to see who how people have changed-or not changed.

Mary, the Tolmans, Suzanne and Andrea and me
Some of my cheerleader friends-and our mascot-Todd
our family and Dave and Deborah
Me and Ashley (she didn't know she was getting herself into the job of planning this when she was dating our friend Dave in High school-they did an awesome job though!)
Laurie, Tiffany, Kris and I, Corie, Becca and their husbands. Kris was relieved to know Tiffany's husband Mills a little so he had someone to chat with while we were socializing. Kris said to me "you looked so happy and had such a big smile on your face all night. You must have been having fun!" We had a great time! It was funny to watch the slide show and see how young and little we all looked when we thought we were so big!

High School Musical 2

Friday night we had a premiere party for High School Musical 2! The girls have the first one memorized and they were counting down to see the 2nd one! They got new high school musical PJ's and they were jumping up and down with excitement! They had made invitations and had set out plates for everyone to eat their pizza on. They have now started memorizing the 2nd one and have watched it every day since friday!

Kyra, Adrie, and Bree waiting for their guests to arrive
Kyra requested cupcakes for the party-pink for Charpay (for those few of you who aren't avid high school musical fans, Charpay is one of the main characters)
Bree chewing on her finger (her new favorite thing to do). She just goes with the flow of her crazy sisters!
Adrie requested chips and dip for the party and she was enjoying it with Uncle Curt who was the only guest right on time for the party!

Bree-6 months!!

Yes Bree is turning 6 months old tomorrow! I can hardly believe it! The time has gone by so fast! She is doing so much lately! She is really strong with her head now, she is totally rolling over (even in her bed at night), and she is practicing sitting in her new bumbo seat! We honestly could not ask for a better baby! She is so mellow and hardly ever even cries!

Things I love about Bree the first 6 months of her life:

  1. when i walk into her room in the morning and she is just laying in her bed waiting patiently for me and she lights up with a huge smile when she sees me (even after she has slept all night and is hungry she still isn't crying)!

  2. HER SMILE!~all you have to do is look at her and she gives you a huge smile! She smiles with her whole body and when she gets excited she can't hold still.

  3. She is my cuddle buddy! She will always give me good cuddle time!

  4. watching how much she has grown and how strong she has gotten

  5. watching her with her sisters and how much they love her

  6. how she plays with her feet and always wants to hold onto something-a blanket, my shirt, whatever she can grab onto

  7. Her pouty face!

  8. Her sweet spirit-she really has this special air about her that is just sweet!

  9. Her laugh! I love listening to her giggle-especially watching her laugh when dad is tickling her and playing with her

  10. Her tongue

    I love you Bree!
I love this one of her little tongue!

Bree tried rice cereal for the first time this week and she was so funny because I would put in in her mouth but then she would keep smiling and it would just run right out. She didn't seem to mind it but she didn't seem too interested in it either. She was too busy smiling at me to care about swallowing it.
