Here's Kris's sailor pose-i think it is a good look but the girls were very concerned he was going to fall overboard while he was pulling up the crab traps. Crabbing is one of the fun things we do in Oregon. we usually just throw some traps off of a dock but this year we decided to try the boating method too. It was a lot of fun! We rented this little boat and went out into the bay to throw out our nets. The boat didn't move real fast because even Adrie kept saying "go faster go faster" but it was still fun to get out on the boat.

The girls loved it- Adrie was especially excited that a boat finally picked her up-she wanted that to happen every time she saw a ship.

Getting ready to go out on the boat with captain brandon.

Here is one of the crab we got toe keep.

this is what the nets looked like when you pulled them up. There were usually lots of crab in them but you have to throw most of them back because they have to be a male and a certain length to keep them. Sometimes when they pulled the nets up the crabs would get out into the boat and scurry around-that made the girls a little nervous but then dad would get them and throw them back in. Adrie actually picked up a couple little ones when we were on the dock and threw them back in the water and she wasn't even scared of them.

Dad picking out the good crab.

Measuring the crab to see if we could keep it. By the end of the day the girls were measuring eachother and saying "nope we have to throw you back in the lotion (Adrie called the ocean "lotion")
