Las Vegas

Last week Kris had a training in Las Vegas so we all went with him for a little last summer vacation together. We stayed at the Flamingo Hotel and we had a great time!

The girls loved checking on the flamingos, turtles, fish and parrots in the habitat at the hotel every day. we had to walk through the habitat to get to the pool so they got to see the animals a lot!
Bree hanging out in her stroller. She decided to attempt rolling over while we were at the hotel one day. We layed her on the bed and the next thing we knew she had rolled her whole body over and her head was arched and almost over too. She is getting stronger every day and she was once again a happy camper the whole trip!

The first night we were there we went to the volcano at the Mirage and then took the tram to Treasure Island but the pirate show was cancelled due to rain so we headed back to Caesars Palace. The girls loved riding the "trains" between the hotels so we had to seek out which hotels had them.

At Caesars Palace we went to see the moving statues and as we were waiting the girls decided to be statues and then they got dad in on it too. Here is Adrie and dad's statue pose
Here's Kris's statue pose-isn't he a cute dad?!
Here are the girls statue poses.
Kyra and mom at the Mirage!

While Kris was in training in the day we would hang out at the pool. The Hotel had a really fun pool! There were water slides and everything! I realized that outside of Utah three kids is a lot because every day at the pool I would get numerous comments about how brave I was and how I really had my hands full! It was funny that people thought I was so crazy to have three little kids at the pool by myself. we made friends with some really nice ladies from Iowa the second day we were there. they said they had been watching us the first day and couldn't believe how well behaved my girls all were. That is a great thing to hear as a mom! I was very proud that my girls were so nice because apparantly everyone was watching them. Later the second day a different lady saw us in the elevator and said "there's the girls from the pool who were so well behaved!" So the ladies from Iowa would save us lawn chairs each day because it got so crowded you couldn't find an open bed by the pool. I was grateful for that so that I could see the girls in the water when I was with Bree.
Kyra testing out the water at the pool. This was a rare moment when the water wasn't packed with people (and their "drinks").
Mom and the girls at Caesars Palace
While we were at Caesars Palace we went to the FAO Schwarz toy store. This SpongeBob was made of Legos and the girls got to play on the famous piano from "BIG"

Since our hotel was "the Pink Flamingo" the bathrooms were pink and even had a pink light you could turn on too. Yes that is a TV in the bathroom mirror behind us! It was this flatscreen right inside the mirror! It was crazy! The girls thought that was GREAT!

These pictures of Bree are some of my favorite because they show her cute little rolls on her arms and legs!

When she smiles she gets so excited so can't hold her body still!

Ok the above picture is hilarious-after we had walked past I had to go back and take a picture. This homeless looking man is sitting on the bridge with a sign that says "I need money for Beer". We were laughing so hard! kris said "well at least he is honest".
The second day we went to the M&M factory.
The girls did some more statue poses with the M&M's

Bree showing off her tongue while we waited for the fountain show to start.

Kyra and Dad's scared pose by the crocadile that really moved and opened his mouth.
Bree trying to sit up in her stroller.
We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe in the MGM Grand hotel. It was a really fun restaurant that really felt like you were in a forest. It even had sound effects and every time something would go off Adrie would grab Kris's hand and not let go till it stopped.

Adrie testing out her life jacket in the pool.

We watched the water fountain show in front of the Bellagio

Adrie was very intent on the water show!

SWIMMING!

Kyra in her frog goggles!
Mom and the girls-Bree was assleep in the stroller behind us. This chair we were in was cool-they sat right in the pool and they had them all around the pool. It was great to sit and soak your feet in the water!
One of Kyra's MANY tricks from the ledge in the pool. Kyra is doing really good swimming without floaties lately!

DOLPHIN ENCOUNTER

We went to the dolphin encounter at the Mirage. It was really fun to see the dolphins up close. I think they are such cute animals! Adrie loved when they would "come over to see her"

The girls waiting for the pirate show at treasure island to start. They were a little scared by all the fire and gunshots in the show-which may have been a good thing because it distracted them from the scarsley dressed sirens on the boat.
There were also tigers and lions at the dolphin encounter. this is Kyra's lion roar and Adrie is enjoying it!

There was a new baby dolphin named Sgt. Pepper. He was so cute he never left his mom's side.
The girls watching the dolphins

SWIMMING WITH DAD!

The last day we were there Kris got out of training at noon so we all got to go swimming together. the girls were really excited because he could take them over to the slide pools which mom couldn't do with Bree. So they spent lots of time going on the slides the last day.

This was the view from our hotel room. The curtains were automatic so the girls loved opening them with the touch of a button-it became a game!
Kyra thinks it s fun that Bree is getting big enough for her to hold sitting up! She is a really good big sister to her and is usually smothering her with kisses!
Kyra took this picture-she did a pretty good job!

SHARKS!

The last night we were there we went to the shark reef at the Mandaly Bay hotel. It was really neat-a little eery to have sharks swimming over your head-but cool! Kris really liked it!
Kris getting a little friendly with the fish!
This shark had this big old saw blade for a nose-
Before the shark reef, we went to the excalibur to have dinner and play some games. Dad won the girls these Curious George animals in one of the games. they thought it was great to get to play some games because they wanted to play the slots every time we walked through a casino. Kris must have explained the gambling thing a little to Kyra because one morning as the girls and I were on our way to breakfast Kyra said "mom, those people are losing there money in those games". She pretty much nailed gambling right on.

Dad and the girls-Bree is behind Kyra, she had a good view of Kyra's back a lot. It was fun to take the girls to the hotel we had stayed at almost 8 years ago on our honeymoon!

I'm so jealous of all the fun things you did on your trips! You really do have very well behaved girls; I'm sure this made it possible to do so much sight seeing! Bree is just getting cuter and cuter by the minute, she is such a character!
